Itinerary

Pick up at Porto Grande. 09:00 Pick up and drop off at Porto Grande Exit / Entrance gate (we will meet you by the administrative offices, about a 5 minute walk from ship). We will have a sign with your name, also GREEN LINE TOURS staff ready to assist) Prepare for a great day together:)

Fortim do Rey. Have a overview of the city of Mindelo with fantastic views of the cityscape; learn about the history of the Island.

Cultural Center. An active center with displays of the current art exhibition, hosting many events on the Island

Belem Tower. Passing by the replica of the Belem Tower, inside is the Ocean Museum (entrance is not included)

Fish Market. Witness the daily lifestyle of life on the Island of São Vicente with a visit to the local markets

African Market. Witness the daily lifestyle of life on the Island of São Vicente with a visit to the local markets

Municipal Market. Witness the daily lifestyle of life on the Island of São Vicente with a visit to the local markets

Monte Verde. Take a scenic drive to Monte Verde, 774m or 2,539ft, the highest peak in Sao Vicente, here you will observe the greenest and most fertile place on the island, as most of it is claylike, on a clear day you will have the opportunity to take wonderful pictures of the breathtaking panoramic views of the city and beaches that outline the outskirts. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the Tea house

Salamansa, Fishing Village. Fishing village of Salamansa is an active village with a different lifestyle than in Mindelo. Here you can also find water sports such as Kite and Wind surfing

Baia das Gatas. Visit one of the most popular beaches, Baia das Gatas Here you may take a swim in the clear blue lagoon, dive into the ocean from the pier.

Return to Ship. Return to Mindelo after a great day of exploring the Island with us:) Get dropped off at Porto Grande Entrance.

Don't forget!

Most of our travel will be by vehicle, though we will do some walking in the city (with the option to stay in the car), wear your bathing suit for a swim at Baia das Gatas Beach, if desired (there is no public changing area). Wear comfortable clothing, shoes, and sun protection. Be advised that we will travel up to the summit of Monte Verde with high altitude. We will make a stop for a beverage, restaurants and local shops accept euros and escudos (local currency), no credit cards.*On Sundays the markets and cultural center are closed, on these days, we will pass by to learn more about lifestyle on the Island. Wear your bathing suit for a swim at Baia das Gatas Beach, if desired, bring a towel and bottle of water (there is no public changing area). Wear comfortable clothing, shoes, and sun protection. Bring cash if you would like to purchase a snack or beverage at the local restaurant.

Enjoy the architectural style of our colorful buildings. Visit the bustling markets of Mindelo; Fish Market, African Market, and Municipal Market (closed on Sundays). From the lookout point, we will have the best views of Mindelo, Monte Cara, and Laginha Beach. Take a scenic drive to the top of Monte Verde, natural and protected park, the highest peak in Sao Vicente. Head to the small charming sea side fishing villages on the Island. Take a swim in the clear blue lagoon of Baía das Gatas, and marvel at the contrasting long beach coastline.
