Khor Virap Monastery is located about an hour's drive from the capital city, offering an amazing view of Armenia's symbol, the majestic Ararat. Noravank Monastery Complex is a pearl of Armenian religious architecture. Located 120 km away from Yerevan, it attracts tourists with its 13th century churches on the background of unearthly landscapes of steep red rocks of the Arpa River Gorge in Jermuk settlement. Areni Cave is located near the village of the same name, and the distance to the capital of Armenia is only 110 km. It is a karst cave located at an altitude of 1080 meters above sea level, right above the bank of the small Arpa River. The entrance to Areni Cave is a narrow cleft in limestone deposits. Inside it is three halls with many natural corridors between them, some of which were blocked by ancient people. At the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to taste and buy Areni wine, made from the oldest grape varieties, which is produced in several wineries in the village of Areni.
