Düden and Kurşunlu Waterfalls, Termessos 2026: GetExperience

Nature in Antalya begins without leaving town. The lower Düden waterfall drops off a cliff straight into the sea, the upper one stands in a park, and a grotto path runs behind its falling water. Twenty kilometres east lies the Kurşunlu waterfall in a pine canyon, with a cascade of small pools and marked walkways. Both work like city parks: paid entry, shade, a café; each takes a couple of hours rather than a whole day.

Beyond them the mountains start. The Taurus ridges come right up to the city, and routes run from there to Karain cave with its Palaeolithic layers, to the Spaghetti cave with its dense forest of stalactites, and to Saint Paul's cave. Private mountain trips usually combine one or two caves with lunch in a village. Termessos is its own story: a city at a thousand metres, reached on foot along a path through the pines.

The furthest natural targets are Pamukkale with its limestone terraces and Lake Salda with a white bed under turquoise water; both need a full day and three hours of road. The sky counts too — tandem paraglider and paramotor flights launch not far from the city. Practical notes: caves stay cool and damp all year, mountain routes call for closed shoes and water, and in summer it pays to set out first thing in the morning.
