Transfers in Cappadocia

Cappadocia is reached through two airports, and the difference between them matters. Kayseri lies about seventy kilometres from Göreme — a little over an hour by road, but it takes more flights and cheaper ones. Nevşehir is half that distance, some forty minutes, yet its timetable is far thinner, and it often turns out that the convenient flight exists only into Kayseri.

A shared transfer gathers passengers from one arrival and drops them at hotels in Göreme, Ürgüp and Uçhisar in turn — cheaper, but the drive stretches out and your hotel may be last on the list. A private car comes for you alone: the driver meets you with a sign, helps with luggage and drives straight there. With an early balloon flight ahead, forty minutes of extra sleep is felt clearly.

Points to note. Cappadocia lies above a thousand metres; in winter the road from the airport can run over snow and journey times grow. Give the flight number when booking — the driver tracks delays by it and waits. Order the return transfer for a morning flight with margin: the streets from the valley hotels out to the main road are narrow and hard to pass on.
